A static website is a type of website that displays fixed content to visitors. These are are best suited for content that doesn't require frequent updates or complex functionality.

In this lesson, you will learn to build multi page static website, with good responsive design that would work well with any desktop browsers and mobile browsers. You would learn to build static website using Gatsby, a framework to quickly build modern static websites. You would also be exposed to various frameworks that would help you to quickly design your web pages to look modern and elegant using Bootstrap and Tailwind. Finally, you would learn how to deploy your website to be hosted in AWS S3. This is the cheapest option to host a static website that can scale to millions of users with minimal cost.

This is still any static website that displays fixed content to visitors. However you can add a data/content layer to this static sites that would allow you generate static pages using dynamic content of your choice. For example, if you have a list you have a list of medical checkup packages for a country, then you can use this list of dynamic data to generate static page to display the packages, link to list of hospitals or even build map of location of these hospitals and packages. This type of website requires that you have a the data layer to feed this list of content to generate static pages for these contents.

A dynamic website is a type of website that generates content dynamically, usually by retrieving data from a database or external sources and combining it with templates and logic.

In this lesson, you will learn to build multi page dynamic website, with good responsive design that would work well with any desktop browsers and mobile browsers. You would learn how to build a full stack application with Ruby on Rails, the framework that would does most of the job for you from managing database, web servers and your web pages. You would build a simple webpage with some dynamic content to manage users in your web application. We would focus on the MVC architecture and the building blocks of Ruby on Rails to get you familar and by the end of this course you should be able to make changes and build your own application.

Finally, we would show how to deploy your application to a server in a cloud using AWS EC2.

This lesson is an extension of the base lesson where you would extend you previous project to add user authorization, to protect your dynamic website from unauthorised access. Only authorized users should be able to see certain of your content.

First, you would build the authentication pages such as login or register pages with the help of Gems such as Devise and Doorkeeper. Gems are packaged libraries available for Ruby on Rails projects. Using this gems you would build the policy to manage your users to your website, separating public and private contents. You would also learn to build and manage a fine grained rules on what resource a user are allowed to access.

• Determine and build private and public pages
• Authorize users based on their authentications
• Deploying your site to AWS EC2

This lesson is an extension of the previous lesson where you would extend you previous project to add SSO, or Single Sign On using popular available options such as Sign in with Github, Google or Facebook. 

First, you would be updating your signup and sign in pages to include these external sign ins. Then you would add the backend code to allow sign in to your website using the external login providers.
